In July 2024, the Universal Forwarding team came together to celebrate an incredible milestone – 35 years in business.
To mark the occasion, our directors Trevor Harbottle, Phil Naylor, and Andy Hanson invited staff and their partners, along with close friends of the business, to join them for a special celebration at Matfen Hall Hotel. The evening brought everyone together to reflect on the company’s journey and the people who have helped shape it over the past three and a half decades.
Founded in 1989, Universal Forwarding has grown from a small two-person operation into one of the North East’s leading independent freight forwarding businesses. Over the years, our company has built a reputation for reliability, dedication, and a personal approach to logistics that continues to set it apart.
The anniversary celebration was an opportunity to recognise the team behind that success. Guests gathered for an evening of food, drinks, and entertainment, with celebrations continuing well into the early hours of Sunday morning.
Reaching 35 years in business is an achievement that reflects not only the company’s growth, but also the strength of its values and the loyalty of the customers it serves.
As the directors shared during the celebration, the milestone is a testament to the people who make Universal Forwarding what it is today – a committed team that takes pride in delivering exceptional service every day.
